Viggen – a versatile kayak for the whole family

Viggen is perfect for you who want to feel stability and confidence when paddling in calmer water, but it also works when the weather turns (feel free to use a spray skirt in windier conditions). The shorter length gives quick responses to your paddle strokes, which is especially appreciated when paddling in streams, rivers and narrow waterways. At the same time, the Viggen is forgiving enough that both beginners and more experienced paddlers will enjoy it.

Comfortable and adjustable
The foot pegs (which steer the rudder at the stern) are easy to adjust for people between roughly 150–195 cm. That means several family members can share the kayak. The cockpit is spacious and comfortable, with a soft seat and adjustable backrest so you sit comfortably even on longer trips. Thanks to the durable polyethylene material, you don't need to worry about scratches and damage when dragging the kayak up on land.

Plenty of storage space
Viggen is equipped with two storage compartments – one at the front and one at the back – where you'll find room for both provisions and gear for a day trip or overnight stay. Smaller items can be stored in the net pocket in front of the cockpit, so you can easily reach your water bottle, map or snacks. Thanks to watertight bulkheads between the cockpit and the storage hatches, the kayak stays afloat even if the cockpit fills with water.

Easy to carry and move
At the bow and stern there are carry handles that make it easy for two people to lift the kayak. If you need to move the Viggen a short distance on your own, you can usually grip the cockpit. For longer transport, a kayak trolley is often a practical addition.

1-layer vs. 3-layer plastic – what's the difference?

In the kayak world, the number of plastic layers is often discussed, but the number of layers isn't automatically a measure of quality:

1-layer plastic: More flexible and therefore withstands bumps and knocks well, which suits shorter kayaks well.
3-layer plastic: Stiffer and provides better torsional rigidity, often a good choice for longer kayaks (5 metres and up).
