Our kayaks are manufactured in three-layer polyethylene plastic, which is a hard-wearing type of plastic that makes the kayak very durable. You do not need to worry about the kayak breaking if it bumps into something, or if it gets scratched when you pull it up onto rocks or a dock. On certain occasions, we also sell used fiberglass kayaks. Fiberglass kayaks are often slightly more expensive than plastic kayaks due to the costlier manufacturing material. These kayaks are beautiful to look at since they have a more glossy finish than plastic kayaks. On the other hand, fiberglass kayaks are much more delicate and crack more easily than plastic kayaks. We recommend beginners buy a plastic kayak whenever possible. Among our used kayaks, you will find both single kayaks and tandem kayaks. The single kayaks come in both shorter (approx. 4.5 m) and longer (approx. 5 m) models. The tandem kayaks are slightly longer than the single kayaks but are short enough to paddle solo if you wish. At Northkayak, we sometimes also have used canoes for sale. These, just like the kayaks, have been used in rental operations by us or our partners around the country. Our used canoes are made from durable polyethylene plastic, giving them many years of service life. The canoe we sell used is the Havspaddeln Kanada model.
