The first thing you should consider is what waters you plan to paddle in and what purpose you have for your paddling. Are you planning to exercise, do yoga, or paddle with children? The board's shape and length reflect its characteristics. An allround board, e.g., Tor 11'0, has a blunter nose, is slightly shorter and wider, which also makes it more stable. A touring board, e.g., 12'6, has a sharper nose, is slightly narrower and longer, which means it cuts through the water better and gives you a better glide.
A foot leash is an important safety accessory in case you fall into the water. It helps you quickly get back to your board, and you do not need to worry about it drifting away. Your choice of paddle is also important for your paddling experience. A lighter paddle also makes paddling easier, which is why many choose to purchase a fiberglass paddle or a carbon fiber paddle. Finally, we recommend everyone use a life jacket specifically designed for paddling. To keep your SUP board looking good and gliding well, it is important to care for it and store it properly. Remember to rinse it with fresh water after use and do not store it in strong sunlight, as this causes the material to age and fade more quickly.
