When mounting the fin, the board needs to be inflated. Lay the board with the underside facing up. At the rear end of the board, there is a rail where the fin is to be mounted. The fin's rounded side should face forward when attached to the board. Slide the fin into the rail and push it all the way in. Secure the fin by pressing the pin on the fin into the hole in the rail.

Be careful about placing the board on the ground with the fin facing down once you have mounted it, as it can easily be damaged. Put the board in the water before you stand on it when the fin is mounted.

Attach one end of the foot leash to the handle at the rear of the board and the other end around one of your ankles. The foot leash is used to prevent the board from drifting away from you if you fall into the water.

To deflate the board, you need to unscrew the valve cap. Start by gently pressing down the pin in the valve slightly for about 10 seconds to let the greatest pressure release. Then press the pin all the way down so the valve locks in the open position and let the air hiss out until the board is empty.

Then roll up the board. Start rolling from the end where the valve is NOT located. Roll carefully at the end where the valve and fin rail are located to avoid damaging these parts.

It is good to rinse your SUP with water now and then to keep it fresh. If you paddle in saltwater, it is good to rinse the board after each use. This minimizes wear on the board. Make sure the board is dry before rolling it up. Store it in the included bag to reduce the risk of mold.

You may need to tighten the valve from time to time. You do this with a valve wrench included in the repair kit. To tighten the valve, insert the wrench into the valve and tighten until you feel the valve is secure.

If your SUP unexpectedly needs repair, there is fabric and glue in the included repair kit. First empty the board of air before wiping the damaged area dry. Then apply the included adhesive to the tear and let it dry. Repeat at least 5 times or until the tear feels sealed.

NOTE – make sure the board is in sufficiently deep water so the fin is not damaged when you step on.

If you are a beginner, you can start by paddling while kneeling. Kneel just behind the board's center point (approximately at the board's center handle) with the paddle in hand and try to find your balance.

When you feel you have found your balance, you can try standing up on your feet. Stand shoulder-width apart with your feet just behind the center point with slightly bent knees. To maintain balance more easily, try to keep a low center of gravity.

For the most efficient paddling possible, place the paddle as far forward as you can. As you become more confident on the board, you can take longer and longer paddle strokes. Take 2 paddle strokes on one side, then switch to the other side to go straight ahead. Remember to engage your core during paddling for more power in your strokes.

To turn your SUP board, paddle forward on only one side. If you paddle only on the right side, you turn left and vice versa. You can also try shifting more weight to one side to turn that way.

If you want to slow down or stop, paddle backward or place the paddle in the water.

When you are out on the water, you must yield to larger boats. Try as much as possible to paddle following right-hand traffic rules. A good default position is to always stay close to shore to avoid larger boats on the water. This also makes it easier for you to get to land if something unexpected should happen during the trip.

If you plan to paddle in rougher water, we recommend using a foot leash. If you fall off, the board will not drift away from you. However, if two of you are using the same board, you should not use a foot leash. There is a risk of getting tangled up in each other.

Always be aware of your surroundings and avoid paddling near shallow rocks and docks that could risk damaging you or the board.

It is always safest to have others out on the water with you, so try as much as possible not to paddle alone. This is especially important if it is very windy or there are large waves. Such weather conditions increase the risks of accidents during SUP paddling.
